Acupuncture

acupuncture

Acupuncture is a technique of using needles or other means to stimulate specific points on the body. Traditionally, Chinese Acupuncture focuses primarily on the body as an energy system rather than primarily a muscular, skeletal, or biochemical system. When the body’s energy system gets out of balance, illness, disability, or pain may occur. Acupuncture stimulates better function and mobilizes the body’s own healing processes. Acupuncture is performed using very thin needles (about the size of human hair) and most patients do not find it painful but find it relaxing, and many doze or sleep once the treatment has started. Acupuncture can be used to treat hundreds of conditions spanning from migraines to sports injuries to chronic and autoimmune conditions.
